LeMay Mobile Shredding Blog

Lemay Shredding is proud to be partnering with Edgewood police department for a multi-faceted shredding, drug take-back, electronic recycling event taking place in Northwood Elementary School on Saturday the 23rd of April from 10:00 am to 1:00pm! We invite you to come out and take advantage of the many services being provided at the FREE event.

What’s Going On

There are a ton of different things going on at this free drive-thru event!

– Free shredding

Lemay Shredding will be at this event providing FREE professional shredding for paper documents. Residents of Edgewood are encouraged to bring their documents that contain sensitive personal information for professional destruction! Keep in mind that we’re capping it at 3 grocery bags per vehicle. This is a great way to get rid of those piles and piles of old bills, mailing addresses, paystubs, and other sensitive-material containing paper. Professional shredding with Lemay ensures complete destruction, keeping your private information, private.

– Electronic recycling

In addition to providing free document shredding, Edgewood Police Department will be accepting electronics for recycling. Electronics need to be deposed of in a certain way due to the parts they contain. Instead of taking them to the dump yourself, you’ll be able to simply drive by and drop off old gaming consoles, laptops, printers, phones, DVD players, lawn equipment, and even generators!

This is a great way to clean out the garage and get rid of those old monitors and other electronics so you finally have more room for more modern replacements or more space for things you love.

– Flag collection by Troop 525

Troop 525 will be at this event as well collecting damaged US flags for proper disposal. If you have old flags that have been damaged by wear and tear or other elements, bring your flag for collection!

– Drug take-back

Whether it’s a prescription that you never finished or another medication that’s been sitting in the medicine cabinet too long, this event will also be doing drug take-backs, no questions asked. Drug take-backs are one of the best ways to prevent drug abuse and children from getting into things they shouldn’t have.

– Clothing and household item collection for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America

Big Brothers Big Sisters of America is an organization that believes in seeing the potential in children and offering mentorships and resources to help them succeed in life, school, and beyond. They will be at this even collecting clothing and household items to be distributed.

– Non-perishable food item collection to support Edgewood’s Nourish Food Bank

Donations of non-perishable food items will be collected at this event in support of Edgewood’s Nourish Food Bank. Though this event is free, this is a great way to give back to those most vulnerable in your community. Examples of good non-perishable food items to bring include canned beans, meats such as chicken or tuna, vegetables, milks (such as coconut milk), peanut butter, and jerkies.

Nourish Food Bank has also compiled this helpful list of what non-perishable food items to bring.

As we said before this will be a drive-up event, so you can quickly drop your items off and get your shredding done between errands.

If you’re in the area and want to be able utilize any of these amazing services and support your local community, come by and say hi!

We hope to see you there!
